PSC Blog # 3 – Congregational Survey

Dominique   -

Dear Church,

This coming week, you will be given the opportunity to complete a congregational survey and actively participate in our pastor search. The purpose of this survey is to gain a better understanding of the characteristics members see as the most important pertaining to our next pastor. As discussed in our previous Blog, we will not be developing a rigid set of criteria to use in selecting our next pastor; rather, the PSC will use the information provided to develop a general pastoral profile. It’s important to remember, we are seeking God’s Man, in God’s Time, No Exceptions. While developing a pastoral profile is part of the process we’re going through; the man God has identified may or may not fit within an established profile.

Survey results will be for PSC use only. Surveys will be sent out via email as a Google Form, made available as hard copy during our Sunday morning services, and placed in the church office. Hard copies will need to be returned to the church office. The PSC is requesting that all surveys be returned no later than Tuesday, June 18th.

Once again, the PSC requests that you commit this item to prayer. Please prayerfully evaluate your responses to all questions. Additionally, we request that you make every effort to look beyond any personal preferences you may have and think through what would be most beneficial to the church as a whole. As you complete this survey, we ask that you prayerfully consider the following passages that outline the qualifications for a Pastor (overseer): 1 Timothy 3:1-3 & Titus 1:5-9.

In Him,
Pastor Search Committee
