Reaching people for Jesus Christ is of utmost importance at First Burk. Every age group has a place to learn to reach out to others and help them get connected to God.
First Burk participates in and organizes many local missions projects. These are organized in a variety of ways, such as through Sunday School classes, ministry groups, or as a church wide effort. Burkburnett is our home and we strive to show our community the love of Christ in practical ways.
One local ministry that is dear to our heart is GRACE MINISTRIES. Grace Ministries exists to help the less fortunate of the city of Burkburnett with food and financial assistance. Our church is a regular contributor to this effort through food drives, our monthly "Bucket Day" collection in our morning worship services, and volunteers. If you would like to make a donation of money or food to Grace Ministries, call 940.569.3388.
Other local missions we support include Faith Mission, Faith Refuge, Children’s Home, Camp Chaparral.
First Burk participates in a variety of mission causes in the state of Texas. We have some who volunteer to serve on Disaster Relief teams that respond to natural disasters such as hurricanes and floods. If you would like more information about state missions, call the church office at 940.569.1434.
National and International Missions
First Burk participates in mission causes in North America mainly through special projects, trips, and the annual Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions. Our church has gone to New York City, New Orleans, Houston and a few others sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Our church has been to Brazil and Africa and has been on mission trips to the South Asian region and will be planning other trips in the future. If you would like more information about how to be involved in international mission efforts, call the church office at 940.569.1434.
Each year we collect a special offering to support international missionaries through the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.
